Homestay Accomodation

Experience the UK with a local family during your stay by living with a Homestay host. It’s one of the best ways to experience and enjoy British culture while you study with us, in a home away from home.

We pride ourselves on providing a truly wonderful British experience for international students and our Homestay Accommodation Programme is one of the key components to this.

You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in everyday life, from eating together to watching some great British TV, and you’ll travel to college by bus or train just like our local students do.

Trips & Events

During your time with Trafford College and your Homestay family, you’ll be able to experience a number of exciting trips and events at some of this great city’s famous landmarks and sites, including:

Old Trafford stadium tour

Velodrome olympic cycling track

Museums & galleries

City shopping experiences

MediaCityUK tours of the BBC and ITV studios

Music events & city festivals

Helpful Information

You’ll also experience British culture through local food. You’ll have the option to eat breakfast and dinner with your homestay family on weekdays, as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner at the weekend and during periods of college holidays.

The College Cafe sells lunch, drinks and snacks and you can also shop at British supermarkets, where you can find a broader selection of food items from around the world.

You’ll of course have access to the internet during your studies at college and with your Homestay host, allowing you to stay in touch with your family back home and friends you meet during your time with us.

Your Homestay host will do your laundry once or twice a week, when convenient. Any items which require dry cleaning or special care are your responsibility, not the responsibility of your host.

If you have a medical problem, your homestay host will contact a doctor/hospital/dentist on your behalf if necessary. You can register with a local surgery on your arrival; your host will be able to tell you where the nearest medical centre is.
