Higher Education first for Greater Manchester in travel and tourism

Travel and tourism students can take their education to a higher level for the first time this September on the only HNC & HND course in international travel & aviation in Greater Manchester.

Expert tutors with several years of work experience in the industry will guide students through an exciting range of modules on this Higher National qualification in International Travel Management, which enables students to specialise in their second years.

Expect work experience opportunities, forged through the College’s well-established links with likes of EasyJet, Jet2, Emirates and British Airways as well as Manchester Airport Group and its associated grounds companies, in addition to private jet operators, such as Signum.

Students will also have the chance to visit airports at home as well as overseas to deepen their understanding and learn from pilots, crew and ground staff, who will offer exclusive insider tips and advice.

Head of Studies for Travel and Tourism, Lisa Cartwright, said: “If you are interested in international travel and aviation or travel management then this course is for you. Whether you choose to study an HNC over one year or an HND over two years, you’ll receive the very best education to get ahead with our expert travel and tourism team.”

Trafford College is one of the only places to offer specialist courses in travel and tourism in the North West.

Alumni who have progressed to stellar careers include Jack Hamilton working in cabin crew and Chloe Pennington employed in reservations for Jet 2 and Andy Cunningham in flight operations for Signum.

Former Trafford College student and long-haul pilot Nick Lee became a national hero last year as part of the Virgin team flying in life-saving medical devices and personal protective equipment during the start of Covid.
