Trafford College helps boost post Covid-19 careers
Trafford College’s Adult Employability and Skills team is helping nurture green shoots in the local economy with a pre-employability training programme that will help support unemployed and disadvantaged adults in Greater Manchester.
Training for exciting new vacancies with e-commerce giant, The Hut Group, is currently underway with candidates being offered interviews weekly for a number of roles in the company’s purpose-built innovative distribution centre in Manchester.
To date, the team have been successful in securing over 100 roles with the group, creating a pipeline of jobs over the coming weeks months. The pre-employability programme is designed to help improve the prospects of the unemployed, in particular those who have been unemployed for long periods or are facing redundancies, and young people not in education or employment. Those who sign up for the assessment day will undergo essential training in customer services and employability skills.
Delivery of the programme is currently located at Airport Academy at Manchester Airport and is also being rolled out to College’s Skills Shop at INTU Trafford Centre to support demand.
