Supported Internship Student wins logo competition
A Trafford College student has won a national competition to design the logo for a new forum championing young people with special needs.
Supported Intern Jack Holgate wowed all five judges at the National SEND Employment Forum with his colourful design and bold words that describe learning with additional support.
Jack is working towards a City and Guild certificate in Employability Skills at the same time as gaining valuable work experience in a supported environment at Trafford College’s programme for students with additional needs.
National SEND Employment Forum member Louise Saunders said: “Jack has done a great job in creating an eye-catching logo that fully captures what the forum is about – he should feel very proud.”
The National SEND Employment Forum was set up to pool resources and lobby more local authorities and employers to provide supported internship programmes. The logo will go on the forum website, correspondence and literature about next year’s conference in February.
Trafford College Supported Internship tutor Fiona Halyburton said: “Jack was immediately engaged with the idea of designing a logo and his design idea seemed to flow naturally. It’s fantastic for Jack to get recognition like this – and for the College. Well done Jack!”
As well as having his work advertised nationwide, Jack also received a certificate and £30 Amazon voucher.
