Finalists for leading industry award
The College's Marketing Department is one of the final contenders for a prestigious industry award for our innovative working practices in supporting adults and young people during the national lockdowns.
When schools and colleges closed to most students in March, The Trafford College Group’s Marketing Department launched a communications campaign providing advice and guidance on access to education as well as safety information and the latest news on re-opening.
Within five working days of lockdown being announced, The College Group rolled out live web chat on Trafford College and Stockport College websites to inform and reassure the existing and prospective students, and share information about the courses on offer, while providing help with applications and enrolment.
Marketing created virtual tours of each of the Group’s campuses in Stretford, Altrincham and Stockport as part of a pioneering series of online open events people could log into from their own homes, featuring tutor welcome videos and online taster exercises for each curriculum area.
Marketing Manager for The Trafford College Group, Elaine Andrews, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for an FE First Award. We went to great lengths to deliver our open events as promised and celebrate our successes, by hosting an even bigger student awards ceremony for our learners online, for example.
“Switching our marketing activity online was not an easy task, but thanks to the hard work of our close knit community of staff and our advances in technology as a Microsoft Showcase College, we were able to overcome challenges to keep everyone informed about what we have to offer, and best serve our local communities.”
The FE First Award is run by the College Marketing Network to recognise excellent working practices in further education and received a huge response this year.
