Course Overview

This short course, which leads to a qualification, is ideal for anmyone considering a career in volunteering or who wants to volunteer at a local charity or organisation.

The course covers a number of topics including:
The benefits of volunteering
The functions of different volunteering organisations
Personal skills required for volunteering
Organisational standards and Equal Opportunities

The course is delivered at a comfortable pace by an experienced and supportive tutor.
Successful completion of the course will lead to a NCFE Level 1 Award in Volunteering qualification.

Due to current guidelines governing social distancing, courses may need to be delivered via a combination of online tutorials and classroom based activities.

No prior knowledge. Learners will, however, be asked to complete a short written assessment prior to the start of the course.
Learners must complete two units:
Explore volunteering and the ways to become a volunteer
Personal standards and requirements for working in a volunteering role

Level 1 Certificate in Volunteering

Learners will need to complete a small portfolio of practical exercises and tasks.

£100. No charge if in receipt of an eligible benefit or earnings of less than £18,050 per annum.
