Course Overview

This course will help the learner to understand the role of the mentor and where mentoring can have the most impact. By the end of the programme, learners will be able to:

* Provide examples where mentoring can be used.

* Describe the benefits of mentoring to the mentor and mentee.

* Understand how a mentoring agreement works and what it should cover.

* Understand the legal and ethical requirements of mentoring.

The course will help to increase your employment opportunities or enhance your role at work. Skills developed on this course are transferrable.

There are three mandatory units: Role of the Mentor, Preparing for the Role of a Mentor and Demonstrating Mentoring Skills & Techniques.

Learners may wish to progress onto another course from the Personal and Social Development programme. Your tutor will advise and support you.

Learners must complete a course workbook to achieve the qualification. Some study will be required away from the college.

The Tuition fee for this course is £150.00.

You may be eligible for a full fee remission if you are in receipt of certain benefits or earning less than £20,888 per annum (if residing within Greater Manchester)
