Course Overview

This introductory qualification is aimed at young learners who have a keen interest to learn about vehicle paint refinishing and the different accident repair roles that are available in the retail motor industry.Learners under the age of 19 will also study Maths and English as part of the programme. During the course all learners are expected to undertake a work placement as part of their studies to gain vital industry experience.

The units on this course allow learners to cover a whole range of specialised areas including accident repair, paint preparation and spray painting.




Course Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 2 or above including maths and English Language.

What you will Learn

The course is a mixture of practical and theoretical knowledge. Approximately 50% of the work will be classroom based.

The practical element of the course takes place in our fully equipped motor vehicle paint shop, learners are required to provide their own safety footwear and protective overalls.

Assessment

Assessment is by practical tasks and completion of a portfolio of evidence along with one multiple-choice online end test.

Progression

Successful candidates can progress on to the IMI Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair Paint Principles or onto an apprenticeship.
