Course Overview

The course consists of a Diploma in Plumbing Studies at Level 2. The course is both internally and externally assessed and is made up of a series of practical and written tasks. This will make up the underpinning knowledge for the trainee plumber. Students wishing to progress onto an NVQ course must be employed within the industry. Obtaining this qualification allows anyone entering the plumbing profession who is not currently employed in a plumbing capacity to seek employment with the sector.

Learning is through classroom based and practical workshop activities. A variety of teaching and learning strategies are employed.

Completion of Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English is compulsory unless a suitable exemption by GCSE certificates can be provided.

Course Requirements

4 GCSE’s at Grade 3 or above (including maths and/or English Language).

The college staff will administer and monitor practical and written assessments covering the range of units and competence.
