This course is intended for learners 16–19-year-old and is delivered over one year it is designed to give you an understanding of a wide range of engineering practices allowing you to develop a range of practical engineering skills. The practical work aims to cover a range of engineering disciplines including hand fitting, Fabrication Engineering and computer aided design Alongside the practical lessons you will also study some underpinning theory to further develop your understanding of engineering processes, you will cover topics such as, working safely in engineering, using and communicating technical information and carrying out engineering activities efficiently. This programme will allow you to develop work related skills in preparation for further training or employment.
If you are a person who enjoys learning by ‘doing’ and is more ‘hands on’ then this course is for you.

You will learn the fundamental skills and knowledge common to all engineering practices, including health and safety requirements, communicating engineering information and working efficiantly and effectively in engineering as well as developing core engineering skills.
