Course Overview

These Level 3 technical qualifications provide learners with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours they need to successfully progress into skilled employment or higher-level technical training or study in the digital sector.
Learners will gain the essential knowledge and skills to work in digital roles by understanding data and digital systems, how software and business interact, security, testing, planning and legal issues.

Course Requirements

5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above including maths and English Language.

What you will Learn

Assessment

Core component:
 paper A written examination
 paper B written examination
 employer-set project

To achieve a grade for core component, students must have results for both sub-components (the core (written) examination and the employer-set project).
The combined results from these sub-components will be aggregated to form the overall core component grade (A*-E and U).

If students fail to reach the minimum standard across all sub-components, they will receive a U grade. No overall grade will be issued for the core component until both sub-components have been attempted.

Synoptic assignments

The student is also required to successfully achieve a distinction/merit/pass grade in one of the occupational specialism components. If the student fails to reach the specified level of attainment, they will receive a U grade.

Progression

You may choose to move into employment on completion of your course or you may apply to a Higher Education establishment to study HE.
The T Level study programme is eligible for UCAS points. Please check the UCAS website for more information.
This technical qualification will support students onto a range of progression routes including employment, higher education and higher apprenticeships.

Career Options

This course is suitable for anyone wanting a career in digital infrastructure and support.
Career options might include becoming an infrastructure technician or a role in IT support. Students can progress into roles such as:
IT Security Co-Ordinator
IT Support Technician
Students can also use this T Level to progress to a related higher-level apprenticeship or course of study at a higher level.

Mandatory Units

Core content of underpinning knowledge, concepts and skills tailored to employment in the digital infrastructure sector.
Specialist training covering industry specific skills.
An industry placement with an employer for a minimum of 45 working days.
