This programme is designed to follow the new national standards for Further and Higher Education. If you work as a trainer or want to begin teaching as a career this introductory course helps you to understand teaching methods, principles and skills required by the education sector. It is intended as a ‘taster’ and will provide you with a starting point if you wish to progress to a full teaching qualification.

Education & Teacher Training
The course is a taster to the full Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training and will give you an understanding of the roles and of a teacher. Approaches to inclusive practice and strategies for assessing learners.
You can progress onto the Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training, or you can follow the training career path and complete the CIPD Certificate in Training Practice. You can also work towards Assessor or IQA qualification.
The award is widely recognised in community based teaching and for companies who have a training requirement but no qualified staff.

The GMCA will fully fund all residents aged 19 or above on 31 August within the 2022 to 2023 funding year to achieve their first or second level 3 qualification. Residents that currently hold a level 3 or higher qualification will be eligible to enrol onto a second level 3 qualification to undertake learning that is different to the one their existing highest qualification is in.
