Are you looking to change your career or are interesting in becoming a Teaching Assistant? If the answer is yes, then this qualification will provide an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children or young people in primary, secondary or special schools. The qualification will enable you to gain knowledge about what is required when working with children and young people.
During your placement you will be required to demonstrate skills in communication, the health and safety and well-being of children and young people and assist them and other adults in providing stimulating learning activities. You will be observed by your assessor at regular intervals through the duration of the course.
This course is also suitable for newly appointed teaching assistants.

This qualification will introduce you to the specialist work that is required to support teaching and learning in schools with children and young people. It will enable you to build on skills such as communication, school procedures and gain the confidence to progress into working within the sector or continue your studies onto the Level 3.
After completion you will be able to progress to:
• Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
• Employment opportunities
A portfolio of evidence which will consist of written assignments, class presentations, professional discussions and workplace observations.
The Tuition fee for this course is £709.00 You may be eligible for a full fee remission if you are in receipt of certain benefits or earning less than £20,319 per annum (if residing within Greater Manchester)
