Course Overview

This course is for learners who wish to pursue a career in the Travel, Tourism or Aviation Industry. Students will learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment or for progression on to a higher level course.

To enhance studies, students will attend a variety of day visits, Chester Zoo, Lake District, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Liverpool City Centre, Liverpool Airport and Manchester Airport guided tours and Manchester Airport Viewing Park.

Course Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above (including maths and English Language).

What you will Learn

Tou will study The UK Travel and Tourism Sector, UK Travel and Tourism Destinations, International Travel and Tourism Destinations, Travel and Tourism Business Environments, The Development of Travel and Tourism in the UK, Factors Affecting Worldwide Travel and Tourism, and Airports and Airlines

Assessment

The course is assessed by means of two external written exams, assignments, projects, role plays and case study work.

Progression

Successful students can progress on to Level 3 studies in Travel and Tourism or Aviation Operations. Students aged 17 years and older may progress on to our Cabin Crew programme (subject to successful interview). Students can also progress into employment.
