Course Overview

This course is aimed at learners with a passion for sports leadership helping to equip learners with the knowledge of how to run their own activity sessions.The course covers a variety of topics from planning and leading sessions, working with others and health and safety within sport and active leisure. The course will help learners develop their own personal and social development as well as that of the groups that they lead.

4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including maths and English.

This course with require you to work with local school children and therefore your place on the course will be subject to the appropriate background checks. Students will also be able to undertake the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme as well as the many different sporting enrichment effers every day. Students will also have free access to the college gym with personalised diet and training plans available.

Level 3 courses in Sport or any other subject area.

You will be assessed on your practical ability to deliver safe and enjoyable activity sessions in varying environments and produce a porfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competences.

This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are resident in the UK and the European Economic Area for the last 3 years. (You must be under 19 on 31st August in the calendar year that you start your course).
