Course Overview

Once successfully completing you’re your Level 2 hairdressing certificate, the Level 2 Diploma is your second stage towards seeking a career as a employed and/or self-employed hairdresser/stylist. This qualification is based on the hairdressing National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognized by the UK’s leading professional body (The Hairdressing Council) as being fit for purpose for preparing learners for a career as a junior hairdresser/stylist.

Our Level 2 programme is designed to prepare you for working on clients. It will allow you to gain confidence and skills in becoming a junior stylist within a Hair Salon. We will ensure you are supported every step of the way, ensuring you succeed and progress to a career in the Hairdressing industry. Learners will start full colour and cutting skills on clients.

Course Requirements

4 GCSE’s at Grade 3 or above (including maths and/or English Language).

What you will Learn

All units in this qualification have been specifically designed to prepare you for working on clients in a real salon environment. You will develop knowledge of the hairdressing sector and work alongside colleagues completing clients in a real salon environment.

You will gain skills and demonstrating professional standards and expectations needed to work in a salon.
These skills you will learn on this second year will develop to a higher level to enable you to perform services independently and progress on to Level 3.

Assessment

As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. It may be in electronic or paper format.

Audio-visual media
Evidence of prior learning or attainment
Written questions
