Course Overview

The hairdressing industry is a fast-developing skill set that is different every day. There are over 30,000 Hair Salons within the UK and currently taking on new stylists every year. If you are passionate about Hairdressing and wanting to expand your skills and knowledge; then this is the right course for you.

Our Level 2 programme is designed to prepare you for working on clients. It will allow you to gain confidence and skills in becoming a junior stylist within a Hair Salon.The main purpose of the Level 2 Certificate in Hairdressing Services is to enable you to develop your hair skills, techniques and knowledge, which will prepare you to progress to the next year of Hairdressing.

The course is a 2 year programme. You will achieve your Level 2 Certificate in the first year.

Course Requirements

4 GCSE’s at Grade 3 or aboe (including maths and/or English Language).

What you will Learn

All units in this qualification have been specifically designed to prepare you for working on clients in a real salon environment. You will develop knowledge of the hairdressing sector and work alongside colleagues completing clients in a real salon environment.

You will gain skills of demonstrating professional standards and expectations needed to work in a salon. These skills you will learn on the first-year journey will be carried through to your second year.

Assessment

As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. It may be in electronic or paper format.

Observed work
Witness statements
Audio-visual media
Evidence of prior learning or attainment
Written questions
Oral questions
Assignments
Case studies

Progression

You will progress on to your Level 2 Diploma for the second year. This allows you to really grasp the technical skills involved in Hairdressing.
