In particular, it would interest those who enjoy teamworking in groups and contributors on external locations to record original video content. This course and it provides an excellent alternative to A-Levels in Media and Film studies at an equal academic standard.

ii. BTEC Media Practice (Digital Content Creation)
These courses are 100% internally assessed (no external assessments) and provide the opportunity to develop a wide range of industry aligned digital design skills such as 3D and VR environments along with animation and lens based skills. The first 6 months of the course is run on a generic ‘foundation’ pathway where students are expected to be engaged and interested in a range of media production areas, students will then have the option to specialise in the favoured area (e.g. Visual Effects, Games Design or Animation) and receive more focussed skills development before completing their own final major project in their specialist subject area.

Learners are expected to embrace a full range of digital diciplines in their first year, before the opportunity to specialise their skill development in the second year of the course.

Modules Include:

Animation
3D
Concept Art
Lens
Sound

This course prepares students for both Higher Education and Employment, through a challenging programme of lectures, workshops and design briefs.

The course is internally assessed and project based with a strong multidisciplinary focus to encourage integration of all the relevant digital skills that learners want to develop.
