Course Overview

The T Level Foundation Programme provides a high-quality route onto T Levels for students who would benefit from the additional study time and preparation that it will give them before they start their T Level.

The Level 2 Certificate in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People will give learners a basic understanding of childcare and education, parenting and babysitting. It will also help them to make an informed choice about working with children and young people

Course Requirements

4 GCSE’s at Grade 3 or above (including maths and English Language).

What you will Learn

During this foundation year, you will develop the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to start your T level, as well as looking at the core principles of Education & Childcare.

Assessment

It will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks, course work or methods such as oral questioning.

Progression

Upon successful completion of the course learners progress onto the T level qualifications in childcare and education.

Career Options

This qualification is not a licence to practice and is designed to help learners progress onto higher level qualifications in childcare and education, which may eventually result in job roles such as practitioner in day nurseries, practitioner in nursery schools, practitioner in reception classes in primary schools or pre-school worker.

Mandatory Units

Modules will include:
Positive attitudes & behaviours, English, Maths and digital skills, skills for successful study, industry placement, and knowledge & skills for the workplace.
