Sport Level 2 Diploma

Course Overview

This course is aimed at learners with a passion for sports leadership helping to equip learners with the knowledge of how to run their own activity sessions.
The course covers a variety of topics from planning and leading, working with others and health and safety.
The course will help learners develop their own personal and social development as well as that of the groups that they lead.

Units:-

1 Prepare for Activity Sessions
2 Lead Activity Sessions
3 Conclude and Review Activity Sessions
4 Support the Work of the team and organisation
5 Promote Health, Safety and Welfare in Active Leisure and Recreation
6 Support Equality and Diversity in Active Leisure and Recreation
10 Contribute to joint working with other organisations
17 Set up, take down and store activity equipment

Course Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including maths and English.

Course Skills & Benefits

The course will require you to work with local school children and therefore your place on the course will be subject to the appropriate back ground checks.

Students will also be able to undertake the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme as well as the many different sporting enrichment offers every day. Students will also have free access to the college gym with personalised diet and training plans available.

Course Progression

Level 3 courses in Sport or any other subject area.

Course Assessment

You will be assessed on you practical ability to deliver safe and enjoyable activity sessions in varying environments and produce a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competences.
