Sport BTEC Level 3 Diploma in partnership with Manchester Cycling Academy

Course Overview

Students will undertake a bespoke curriculum offer which is focussed on developing a young rider's performance, ability, knowledge and understanding of their chosen discipline within cycling and the wider world of sport and active leisure. There are 15 hours of study per week; 10 classroom hours, 1 hour of tutorial and 4 hours of cycling specific practical sessions in addition to your own cycling training programme.

Academic delivery will be carried out by very experienced teaching staff at the high performing Sports Department at Trafford College; each of whom have a wealth of teaching and practical expertise from a range of different sporting disciplines at local, regional and national level as well as specialisms in several subject areas within the wilder world of sport.

Our holistic, academic approach is combined with many years of top-level experience in several sports and will assist you to develop to be the best rider you can possibly be.

More than just a college where learners will simply go to study and to ride a bike, Manchester Cycling Academy, in partnership with Trafford College, will ensure that everyone who attends will develop the academic, sporting and life skills they will need to succeed both on the bike and off it.

Course Requirements

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and maths

Course Progression

Higher Education, Apprenticeships, employment within industry, professional athlete or subsidary roles to a professional athlete such as coach, nutritionist, rehabilitator.

Course Assessment

External assessment includiing examinations and internally assessed coursework.
