Restaurant Management Level 3

Course Overview

The Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership is for candidates that have just completed a food and beverage service qualification and would like to broaden their existing knowledge and gain important leadership and management skills.

Trafford College's award winning Aspire Restaurant has been nationally recognised by the AA and is open to the public for lunch and dinner and offers a realistic working environment.

Course Requirements

5 GCSE's at grade 4 or above including maths and English at grade 4 / C or a level 2 certificate or diploma in a related subject.

To prepare you for a higher level qualification, employment or university you might be required to study a GCSE qualification in maths and English.

Mandatory Units

The programme consists of a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision.
Units include:

Principles of supervising food and beverage services
Supervise food and beverage service
Barista skills
Supervise hospitality events

Course Progression

Successful students may progress onto another Level 3 qualification or a Level 4 Hospitality leadership qualification, or employment.

Course Assessment

Assessment is continuous, with candidates undertaking practical observations, short answer questions and producing written evidence to meet the requirements of the qualification.

Course Finance

This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are resident in the UK and the European Economic Area for the last 3 years. (You must be under 19 on 31st August in the calendar year that you start your course).

Candidates will need to invest in a front of house uniform and we strongly recommended purchasing a Level 3 Hospitality Supervision & Leadership handbook.

You will need to undertake an extended work experience placement as part of your study programme.
