Students learn through a combination of real-life working environments, theory and skills classes.
Students will develop the foundations in food preparation and cooking and food service. This is based on the fact that core skills are developed at Level 1 allowing for progression onto a higher level course. Students will complete work across the whole department including kitchens, pastry and restaurants.
To prepare you for a higher level qualification, employment or university you might be required to study a GCSE qualification in maths and English.
Trafford College's award winning Aspire Restaurant has been nationally recognised by the AA and is open to the public for lunch and dinner and offers a realistic working environment. There are four well equipped industry standard kitchens for training purposes and a demonstration kitchen for presentations and masterclasses.
A well-stocked library and computer workshop can also be accessed by all students.
Industrial and educational visits are also included in this study programme.
