The course is designed for learners with an interest in computing, programming and digital communications who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to allow them to achieve employment in the IT and computing sectors
All applications will be considered individually however offers will usually be based on:
64 UCAS points at A Level in relevant subject(s)
BTEC Level 3 qualification in relevant subject merit profile(2 years)
4 GCSEs at grade C or above (or numeric score of 4/5 under newly reformed GCSE grading) which must include Maths and English.
An Access to Higher Education Diploma in relevant area
Other related Level 3 qualifications
Related work experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications
Applications from mature students without formal qualifications will be welcomed, especially if you have the motivation to succeed. Normal minimum qualifications required for mature entrants (21 years and above) are a recognised Computing Access course or business experience in the computing industry using IT related skills and successful completion of an aptitude assessment in maths and English Language
Evidence based against learning outcomes and assessment criteria. There are no formal examinations during this course.

Degree or employment into or within the IT sector. Learners may work towards membership of the British Computer Society.
Pearson (formerly Edexcel)
The aim of this course is to prepare learners for employment in the IT and computing (cyber security) sectors and will be suitable for learners who have already decided that they wish to enter this area of work.
