Course Overview
Why study Geography?
The world we live in is changing: Geography allows us to see why and how it is changing. The subject can also enhance communication skills, literacy and numeracy skills, IT literacy, spatial awareness, team working and problem solving skills as well as environmental awareness.
What’s on the course?
Students will study themes including water and carbon cycles, changing places and hazards. They will discover how their own actions can relate to the wider world, be it the local area or a country far away. Students complete an individual investigation which must include data collected from the field. Students need to undertake a minimum of 4 days fieldwork, and write up a 3,000- 4,000 word report.

Course Assessment
The A level is awarded on the basis of exams held at the end of the second year which cover the full course.
