The course covers the new GCSE Mathematics specification, at the Foundation tier, but those with very high scores on the GCSE assessment may be offered a place in a Higher tier class.
The course covers the following topics:
Number, algebra, ratio, proportion and rates of change, geometry and measures, probability and statistics.
Upon application, learners will be contacted with an assessment date and places will be offered on appropriate courses based on their assessment result.
Course requirements mean you must attend 90% of all classes.
You will need a scientific calculator (we recommend the Casio fx83), A4 file, paper, pen, pencil, protractor, ruler, compasses.
You may also want to buy a revision guide / workbook to help you do additional work outside of the classroom; recommendations will be made at the beginning of the course.Complete the application form available at http://www.trafford.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/ADULT_MathsEnglishForm_Dec18_fill.pdf
