ESOL Entry Level 1

Course Overview

This basic course in English as a Second Language will help you learn skills in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing English. If you are new to studying English, this may be the level where you will need to begin. You will be advised at the interview stage. Your course tutor will introduce you to a range of language skills to help you communicate with others. There will be practical and theory lessons throughout the course to help develop your skills.

Course Requirements

As no formal qualifications are required, the tutors at Stockport College will interview you and carry out an initial assessment to see what skills you already have and then place you on the most appropriate level.

They will help to improve your skills in speaking, reading and writing which will in turn enhance your employment prospects.

Mandatory Units

Units include:
Entry Level 1 Speaking and Listening.
Entry Level 1 Reading.
Entry Level 1 Writing.

Course Progression

Once you have successfully completed the qualification you can move onto the next level of ESOL qualification at Entry Level 2.

Course Assessment

You will complete exams in:
Entry Level 1 Speaking and Listening.
Entry Level 1 Reading.
Entry Level 1 Writing.

Course Finance

This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are a resident in the UK and the European Economic Area or have been for the last 3 years. You must be under 19 years old on 31st August in the calendar year you start your course.
