Electrical/Electronic Engineering Level 3 Extended Diploma

Course Overview

This course is designed to meet the requirements of students wishing to gain employment within the maintenance engineering industry. The course is also suitable for anyone who wishes to progress to higher education in their chosen field, or who wishes to gain a basic understanding of process maintenance theory and practice. Students will complete 17 units of which 5 are mandatory:

5 Mandatory Units comprise: Health and Safety; Communications for Technicians; Electrical Principles; Mathematics for Technicians; Project;

12 Specialist Units from the following: Electrical Technology; Engineering Materials; Circuit Design and Manufacture; Mechanical Principles; Engineering Design; Commercial aspects; Further Electrical Prtinciples; Digital Systems; PLCS; Analogue devices; Eletronic devices and circuits and Further Mathematics.

Course Requirements

Year 1 (90-Credit Diploma):

5 GCSEs at grade 9 - 4 including English Language and Science and mathematics at grade 5 minimum

Year 2 (Extended Diploma)
