Course Overview

This qualification has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting care routines for babies and young children, supporting the well-being of babies and young children for healthy lifestyles and supporting the needs of babies and young children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Course Requirements

To apply for this course you will need 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including maths and English

Mandatory Units

Areas of study will include:

Patterns of child development
Promoting children's development through play

Course Progression

This qualification allows progression on to the Childhood & Education - Level 3 Technical Diploma

Course Finance

This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are resident in the UK and ther European Economic Area for the last 3 years. (You must be under 19 on the 31st August in the calendar year that you start your course).
