The course will be completed over a two period, the first year as a Subsidiary Diploma where 6 units will be completed and the second year as the Extended Diploma to cover a further 18 units.
This course is primarily designed for school leavers who wish to enter the construction industry as technical apprentices or progress directly to university to study a range of degrees such as Project Management, Surveying, Architecture or Building Services Engineering.
You will study how to design a variety of building services such as heating, ventilation, air condidioning, electrical systems and plumbing.
You will work individually on assignments and as a group on a project which brings all the aspects of building services together.
There will be field trips to visit current buildings in order to widen your knowledge of building service systems. The main benefit of this programme is the wide range of careers available to you within the construction industry.
Year 2 - 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 including maths and English plus a Level 3 Certificate or Subsidiary Diploma in a related subject
