AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4)

Course Overview

This course aims to provide a training programme which reflects current up-to-date accounting practice in industrial and commercial companies. This has been developed by the lead body for Accounting and the 5 major accounting bodies of England and Wales in conjunction with the requirements of employers and accounts staff. The qualification is aimed at accounts support at technical personnel and those who wish to set up in business for themselves and prepare accounts for small/ medium size companies.

The course is taught and assessed one unit at a time:-

Unit 1 - Management Accounting (MABU)
Unit 2 - Management Accounting (MCDL)
Unit 3 - Financial Statements of limited companies (FSLC)
Unit 4 - Synoptic (PDSY)
Unit 5 - Cash and Treasury Management (CTRM)
Unit 6 - Personal Tax (PLTX)
*You will need a further 15 hours a week for Studying/Reading

*You MUST purchase all books for each unit

*STUDENTS MUST BECOME MEMBERS OF THE AAT within 4 weeks of joining the course - as this is a professional qualification it is your responsibility to declare any history of criminal convictions. AAT will then decide whether you can become a member

Course Requirements

* Successful completion and proof of AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3) with a merit profile (+80%) is desirable * At this level a full commitment is required if success is to be achieved * Keyboard skills are essential as is a knowledge of IT eg. Microsoft Office * Students should hold a position in an Accounts role, where they can practice their skills * Entry is through interview and test where appropriate to determine suitability

Course Assessment

There will be 5 computer based assessments and a synoptic assessment **
