Whatever the ambition and passion of our learners, Trafford College is here to help them succeed. Every year, thousands of students join us on courses that are designed to further their career prospects, enable transition to higher education or simply satisfy a desire to learn new skills and support wellbeing.
Our aim at Trafford College is two-fold – to provide an inclusive educational offer that serves the needs of our local community for young people and adult learners; and to provide a careers focused curriculum that meets the needs of local businesses, and enables our students to further their employment prospects. In short, we are here to ensure our students develop the skills, attitudes and behaviours required for success in life and work.
We have two main campus sites in Trafford. Our Stretford Campus offers Adult Education courses in maths, English and ESOL. We also provide a range of courses across STEM subject areas such as Applied Science, Construction & Building Services, Digital & ICT, Engineering and Motor Vehicle. These courses are delivered with industry standard resources and are accessed by young people, adult learners, Higher Education students, apprentices and local businesses. Our Altrincham Campus contains our dedicated 6th Form Centre providing a range of academic qualifications, as well our amazing Hospitality & Catering, Hair & Beauty and Sport and Uniformed Services courses delivered through our Aspire Restaurant & Bar, Enhance Salon and Spa and Strive Fitness Suite. The campus also contains our Creative Arts building providing a large number of full and part time courses for young people and adults. Our Foundation Learning department delivers courses with a focus on personal development and progression into vocational and academic studies. The campus also provides hugely popular courses in Business, Finance and Law, as well as Health & Social Care, Education and Childcare.
In addition to our main campus sites, we also run a number of highly successful community learning courses across a range of venues within Trafford. We also have our employability skills provision located at the Retail Skills Shop in the Trafford Centre.
Our greatest asset though at Trafford College is our staff who go above and beyond to ensure that our students get the best possible teaching and support to enable them to reach their ambitions. We expect the very highest standards at Trafford College for all of our students and this is evidenced year after year by our achievement and progression outcomes.
However, do not take my word for it. Look through our website to see further details on all the courses and support that we offer. Come and visit on one of our open days, speak to our colleagues, meet current students and have a look around our facilities. We will make your experience an incredibly welcome one, and we will provide you with all the information you need in order to make those all-important decisions on the next steps in your education and career journey.
Best wishes
James Scott, Principal & CEO, Trafford College.

The Trafford College Community Partnership brings together a range of local organisations who work collectively together to enhance our college offer to our students.
Colleges are often referred to as “anchor institutions” within the local community. We believe that it is essential to work with our local partners to provide the education provision that our communities require whilst reaffirming connections that create opportunities for our students. By joining with our partners, we can provide a more holistic experience that addresses all areas of our students’ educational, personal and social development needs.
This partnership therefore provides inclusive support for student challenges, it provides opportunities for student led social action and response to civic duty; in addition to offering creative opportunities for work experience as well as complementary educational activities.
This model of working is needed now more than ever before. The Community Partnership has been an integral part of the College’s response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and continues to enable much needed support for our students and their families. The partnership is also an essential part of the College’s wider strategy around community cohesion and inclusion, and will ensure that we remain an institution rooted in the needs and interests of the localities we serve.
