Feven Zeray studied electrical engineering with Trafford College
Feven Zeray is on course and flying high towards a career in aeronautical engineering after winning the prestigious BTEC Adult Learner of the Year Award.
The electrical engineering student was recognised for her achievements at a glittering ceremony held at Central Hall Westminster in London.
Feven’s ultimate goal is to become a successful and skilled engineer in the aeronautical engineering sector. While obtaining top marks in her studies and singlehandedly raising her daughter, she still also managed to find the time to volunteer at multiple college events as a student ambassador in order to encourage others into STEM industries.
Feven said: “I am so happy to have won this national award, I never could have imagined it! I’ve always worked hard to get the best results because I believed I should, but to be recognised for it feels amazing; I can’t even put it into words.
I’m so incredibly grateful and thankful for my daughter who is the reason for my determination, and my friends and tutors at Trafford College who supported me through my journey to get here.”
Engineering tutor Ali Gebelli said: “Feven is one of the most exceptional students I have encountered in my teaching career. Throughout her time at college she has exhibited excellence in all that she puts her mind to. Her endless inquisitiveness, positive attitude and her willingness to take risks, leads me to believe there will be no limit to her growth and achievements in college and beyond.”
During her time at Trafford College, Feven was also crowned the Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains (HPP) Student of the Year.
